A Kept Woman..........................

I Am a '
Kept ' Woman?
You see, there were a few times when I thought I would lose my mind,

But GOD
kept me sane. (Isa. 26:3)
There were times when I thought I could go no longer,

But the LORD
kept me moving. (Gen 28:15)
At times, I've wanted to lash out at those whom I felt had done me wrong,

But the LORD
kept my mouth shut.. (Psa. 13)
Sometimes, I think the money just isn't enough,

But GOD has helped me to
keep the lights on, the water on, the car paid, the house paid, etc.., (Matt. 6:25 -34)
When I thought I would fall, HE
kept me up.
When I thought I was weak, HE
kept me strong! (I Pet. 5:7, Matt. 11:28-30)
I could go on and on and on, but I'm sure you hear me!

I'm blessed to be '
kept '
Do you know a '
kept ' woman?
If so pass it on to her to let her know she is '
Kept '

I'm
"Kept" by the Love and Grace of God

Thanks Trudy!!!

Poem~

Tell Me About It

Son, even before you were born

I talked endlessly to you

Whispered my dreams for you

My hopes for your life...

Told you all about it

When you were learning new things

Each and everyday

I guided you, taught you

Delighted in each new adventure with you....

Talked with you about it

When it was time

I walked you down to the school bus

And watched you climb up the steps

Calling to you with encouragement, “It will be fine,

When you get home,

You can…..

Tell me all about it”

Your first “crush”

Your first “broken heart”

You shared your excitement, your pain.

You...

Told me all about it.

Through the trials of your teens

I tried to understand your anger,

Your pain, your struggles

You no longer would...

Tell me all about it

Soon, You were going to be a Dad…

You shared your trepidation,

I watched you light up with pride

As your son grew to…

Tell you all about it

Although our time was cut short

And my questions have no answers

I hear the love in your words on my heart each day…

“Mom, when you get home…

I will tell you all about it."

Poem~

Open Your Heart

In the beginning we were mute, deaf and blind,

we knew nothing of what could be.

So impatiently we waited,

for what we were certain was the right to speak, hear and see.

Then one day words came forth,

but what use are they when they go unheard?

When our ears opened to sounds of spoken word,

not a moment’s passing thought was given to how those words could hurt.

When finally the light came into our eyes,

we still could not see that our souls were lost.

We now walk around confident and smug,

believing that beauty and truth can be bought at any cost.

If only we knew to open our hearts as well,

we would find out that it is with our hearts we should truly feel.

For that is how we first find our way to Him,

that through Him we get (at no cost) the best deal.

He paid our price,

He paid with blood.

If we were smart enough to put our faith and trust in Him,

unconditional love and forgiveness would sweep us away like a flood.

He is our ticket if we only knew,

He is our one-way to paradise.

When our hearts belong to Him we are better people,

words no longer cut and slice.

When our hearts belong to Him the world is magical,

our ears open to His music that we could never before hear.

When our hearts belong to Him we see clearly,

our souls are no longer lost because in His heart He holds us dear.

GREAT TRUTHS THAT LITTLE CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED:

1) No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats.

2) When your Mom is mad at your Dad, don't let her brush your hair.

3) If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second person.

4) Never ask your 3-year old brother to hold a tomato.

5) You can't trust dogs to watch your food.

6) Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair.

7) Never hold a Dust-Buster and a cat at the same time.

8) You can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk.

9) Don't wear polka-dot underwear under white shorts.

GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED:

1) Raising teenagers is like nailing jelly to a tree.

2) Wrinkles don't hurt.

3) Families are like fudge..mostly sweet, with a few nuts.

4) Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.

5) Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside.

6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fibre, not the toy.

GREAT TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD

1) Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.

2) Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get.

3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you're down there.

4) You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.

5) It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.

6) Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician.

7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.

  Grandma, some ninety plus

years, sat feebly on the patio bench. She didn't

move, just sat with her head down staring at her

 hands.

When I sat down beside her

she didn't acknowledge my presence and the longer I

sat I wondered if she was OK.

                         Finally, not really wanting

to disturb her but wanting to check on her at the

same time, I asked her if she was OK. She raised her

head and looked at me and smiled. 'Yes, I'm fine,

thank you for asking,' she said in a clear voice

 strong..

                         'I didn't mean to disturb

you, grandma, but you were just sitting here staring

at your hands and I wanted to make sure you were

 OK,' I explained to her.

                         'Have you ever looked at

your hands,' she asked. 'I mean really looked at

 your hands?'

I slowly opened my hands and

stared down at them. I turned them over, palms up

and then palms down. No, I guess I had never really

looked at my hands as I tried to figure out the

 point she was making.

                         Grandma smiled and related

 this story:

'Stop and think for a moment

about the hands you have, how they have served you

well throughout your years. These hands, though

wrinkled shriveled and weak have been the tools I have used all my life to reach out and grab and

 embrace life.

                         'They braced and caught my

fall when as a toddler I crashed upon the floor.

They put food in my mouth

and clothes on my back. As a child, my mother taught

me to fold them in prayer. They tied my shoes and

pulled on my boots. They held my husband and wiped

my tears when he went off to war.

'They have been dirty, scraped and raw, swollen and bent. They were uneasy

and clumsy when I tried to hold my newborn son.

Decorated with my wedding band they showed the world

that I was married and loved someone special

They wrote my letters to him

and trembled and shook when I buried my parents and

 spouse.

                         'They have held my children

and grandchildren, consoled neighbors, and shook in

fists of anger when I didn't understand.

                         They have covered my face,

combed my hair, and washed and cleansed the rest of

my body. They have been sticky and wet, bent and

broken, dried and raw. And to this day when not much

of anything else of me works real well these hands

hold me up, lay me down, and again continue to fold

 in prayer.

'These hands are the mark of

where I've been and the ruggedness of life.

                         But more importantly it will

be these hands that God will reach out and take when

he leads me home. And with my hands He will lift me

to His side and there I will use these hands to

 touch the face of God.'

I will never look at my

hands the same again. But I remember God reached out

and took my grandma's hands and led her home. When

my hands are hurt or sore or when I stroke the face of my children and husband I think of grandma. I

know she has been stroked and caressed and held by

 the hands of God.

A row of bottles on my shelf

Caused me to analyze myself.

One yellow pill I have to pop

Goes to my heart so it won't stop.

A little white one that I take

Goes to my hands so they won't shake.

The blue ones that I use a lot

Tell me I'm happy when I'm not.

The purple pill goes to my brain

And tells me that I have no pain.

The capsules tell me not to wheeze

Or cough or choke or even sneeze.

The red ones, smallest of them all

Go to my blood so I won't fall.

The orange ones, very big and bright

Prevent my leg cramps in the night.

Such an array of brilliant pills

Helping to cure all kinds of ills.

But what I'd really like to know...........

Is what tells each one where to go!

~The Law of the Garbage Truck~

This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now

call, "The Law of the Garbage Truck.

"He explained that many people are like garbage

trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of

frustration, full of anger, and full of

disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need

a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on

 you.

Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish

them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and

spread it to other people at work, at home, or on

the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let

garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short

to wake up in the morning with regrets, so.....

"Love the people who treat you right.. Pray for the

ones who don't." Life is ten percent what you make

it and ninety percent how you take it!

RULES FOR A PERFECT DAY

by Tom Hopkins

Just for today...

~I will try to live and delight in the reality of being alive. My past is forever gone, my future an uncertainty, so I will be happy and thankful for each moment.

~I will not allow negative input into my mind...happiness is a choice and I choose to be happy.

~I will be thankful to God for my health, my loved ones, my business, and my country. I will also be thankful for any pain in crisis that helps me grow because God has said, be thankful in all things.

~I will take care of my body, realizing the importance of the words moderation and balance, knowing that as I bring my flesh under control, how much easier it will be to control my will and my actions.

~I will treat everyone I meet today the way I would like to be treated. I will strive to have them like themselves better when they’re with me.

~I will avoid gossip, jealousy, and negative thinking. Most people don’t think about what they think about. Today, I will make a conscious effort to hold loving and beautiful thoughts in my mind.

                                                                                     Life Just Isn't

Life isn't about keeping score.
It's not about how many people call you
and it's not about who you've dated,
are dating or haven't dated at all.
It isn't about who you've kissed,
what sport you play, or which guy or girl likes you.
It's not about your shoes or your hair
or the color of your skin or where you live or go to school.
In fact, it's not about grades, money, clothes,
or colleges that accept you or not.

Life isn't about if you have lots of friends,
or if you are alone, and it's not about
how accepted or unaccepted you are.
Life just isn't about that.
But life is about who you love and who you hurt.
It's about how you feel about yourself.
It's about trust, happiness and compassion.
It's about sticking up for your friends
and replacing inner hate with love.
Life is about avoiding jealousy, overcoming ignorance
and building confidence.
It's about what you say and what you mean.
It's about seeing people for who they are

and not what they have.
Most of all, it is about choosing to use your life
to touch someone else's in a way that could never
have been achieved otherwise.

These are your choices and it's what life is all about.

_thanks Darlene!!!!___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Attitude

There once was a woman who woke up one morning,

looked in the mirror,

and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.

Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today."

So she did

and

she

had

a

wonderful

day.

The next day she woke up,

looked in the mirror

and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.

"H-M-M," she said,

"I think I'll part my hair down the middle today."

So she did

and

she

had

a

grand

day.

The next day she woke up,

looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.

"Well," she said,

"today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail."

So she did

and

she

had

a

fun,

fun

day.

The next day she woke up,

looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.

"YEA!" she exclaimed,

"I don't have to fix my hair today!"

Attitude is everything.

Be kinder than necessary,

Live simply,

Love generously, Care deeply, Speak kindly.......

for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It is about learning to dance in the rain, the snow, the dust storms and the hurricanes.
